About Stella Rossa
Stella Rossa is a bustling burst of Italian flavor and energy. The lively atmosphere is perfect for sharing a meal with friends or family, or for a late night snack. The dynamic bar provides a vibrant venue for sampling from a selection of 50 Italian wines served by the bottle or quartino. Begin your meal with a sampling of Italian meats, cheeses and olives. Next, try several of our signature hot and cold small plates. Then, choose from a selection of our wood-fired pizzas and pastas, or one of our signature entrees.
Dave Magrogan has spent three years searching for the perfect location and the perfect chef to create his authentic Italian concept, Stella Rossa. Chef Anthony DiPascale was exactly what Magrogan needed to create his ideal Italian Ristorante and wine bar. Chef Anthony grew up in South Philadelphia and in a family butcher shop. After years at Lambertis and several award winning Italian restaurants he has been brought to DMG to share his talents.
Creative and traditional dishes are brought to life with local and fresh ingredients. An extensive wine and specialty cocktail list pairs with each dish to complete the dining experience.
About Chef Anthony
Chef Anthony DiPascale, who has spent the past year as the Executive Chef of Magrogan’s Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar in University City, was exactly what Magrogan was looking for. DiPascale grew up in South Philadelphia and worked in his family’s butcher shop from the age of 10. “After opening Brasserie Perrier under Chef Chris Scarduzio and experience working at several award-winning Italian restaurants around Philadelphia, including Aldo Lamberti’s Tutti Tuscano and Max’s Fine Dining in N.J., which earned three bells from Philadelphia Inquirer restaurant critic Craig LaBan, Anthony was the ideal chef to build a fresh Italian dining concept around,” said Magrogan. “Anthony is super creative, seriously connected to local farmers, fishermen and artisan purveyors, and completely committed to making Stella Rossa one of the best Italian restaurants in the Philadelphia region.”
